• The trophy event consists of the following competitions:

  • Subject to where specific provision is made in these rules, the relevant League rules shall apply.

Fixtures

  1. Each group stage fixture shall be played at the home ground of the team listed first in the fixture. In the event that the first drawn team is unable to host the tie on the scheduled date, the game shall be played at the ground of the second drawn team. If neither team is able to host the tie the game shall be played at a venue determined by the Management Committee. In any event the Management Committee may order that any tie be played on a date and at a venue of its choosing.
  2. Each tie must take place on or before the given date allocated for the fixture. The tie can be brought forward from the original fixture date (with agreement from both teams) but not moved back.
  3. Matches can be brought forward if mutually agreed. Matches cannot be moved back.
  4. If a fixture is postponed/abandoned twice owing to pitch conditions, the venue will change to the listed away team for the fixture.
  5. Any tie-break play off fixtures to determine teams progressing to knockout stages shall be played at a venue determined by the Management committee. In any event the Management Committee may order that any tie be played on a date and at a venue of its choosing.
  6. Knockout ties shall be played at the home ground of the team listed first in the fixture. In the event that the first drawn team is unable to host the tie on the scheduled date, the game shall be played at the ground of the second drawn team. If neither team is able to host the tie the game shall be played at a venue determined by the Management Committee. In any event the Management Committee may order that any tie be played on a date and at a venue of its choosing.
  7. Final ties shall be played at a venue determined by the Management Committee. In any event the Management Committee may order that any tie be played on a date and at a venue of its choosing.
  8. The decision of the management committee relating to dates and venues of all matches shall be binding on all teams.
  9. All Saturday Trophy Event Competition matches shall kick off between 10.00am and 12.00pm as determined by the home team.
  10. All Sunday Trophy Event Competition matches shall kick off between 10.00am and 2.00pm as determined by the home team.
  11. The fee and expenses of appointed Match Official(s) relating to all Trophy Event Competition matches (except for the final tie) shall be borne equally by both clubs.
  12. The League shall meet all match expenses of the final ties and shall take the proceeds of any gate or programme monies involved.
  13. In the event of a team failing to fulfil a trophy event competition fixture on the date decided, it may forfeit the match to its opponents and may be liable to a fine of up to £50.
  14. For all Trophy Event Competition matches where there is a colour clash then the away team will change colours.
  15. In the event of a draw at the end of normal time in a group stage Trophy Event match, the match will be declared a draw. No further extra time or penalties should take place.
  16. Results and match returns of all trophy event fixtures must be reported to the Full-Time system. Scores must be submitted by 5pm on the day of the match taking place. A complete match return must be submitted prior to midnight on the immediate following Wednesday of the match.
  17. In the event of a draw at the end of normal time in a Quarter Final, Semi Final or Final tie, extra time of 5 minutes each way shall be played. If the scores are still level at the end of extra time, the match shall be decided by the taking of penalties as laid down in the Laws of the game.

    • Under 9 4sports Trophy – Top 2 placed teams of Group A and Group B.
    • Under 9 4trophies Trophy – Top 2 placed teams of Group A and Group B.
      Under 10 4trophies Cup – Top 4 placed teams of Group A and Group B.
    • Under 10 4sports Trophy – Top 4 placed teams of Group A and Group B.
    • Under 10 4trophies Trophy – Top 4 placed teams of Group A and Group B.
    • Under 10 4sports Cup – Top 4 placed teams of Group A and Group B.

  • Should teams be joint in position, places will be determined by Head-to-Head result starting with the two joint teams, then progressed by results against teams placed first to last. Goal difference shall not be used. Should Head-to-Head not deem a result, the league management committee may determine the final standings or request a play-off match will take place. Clubs will be given 5 days’ notice of any play-off match.

Player Eligibility

  • A player may not play for a team if they have played in a fixture for another team in the same age group Trophy Event Competition in the same season.
  • A player can only play for the team they are registered with on The FA’s Player Registration system. Clubs with multiple teams within an age group cannot have players play for other teams within that age group.
  • For the avoidance of doubt, the 4trophies Cup, 4sports Trophy, 4trophies Trophy and 4sports Cup are defined as one Trophy Event Competition for each age group; should a player play for one team in the 4trophies Cup, 4sports Trophy, 4trophies Trophy and 4sports Cup they shall not be eligible to play for any other team in the 4trophies Cup, 4sports Trophy, 4trophies Trophy and 4sports Cup in the same age group that season, regardless of playing day.
  • No player shall play for a team in the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals or Final of any Trophy Event Competition unless they have played in at least two matches (league or league trophy competition or other trophy event) for the said team prior to the Quarter-Finals (if applicable) or Semi-Finals during the current season (or was a registered bona fide player for the said team on 1st October of the current season), except with the permission of the committee. Applications for permission to be granted must be submitted in writing to the League Secretary at least five days before the date of the tie.
  • Teams found guilty of playing ineligible player(s) in a Trophy Event Competition match may be removed from the competition, have any matches where the player played awarded to the opposition, and may be fined up to £100. Please note that in the event of ineligible player(s) playing in a game, the Management Committee will not order a game to be replayed.

Final Information

  • A cup or trophy shall be awarded to the winning team in a Trophy Event Competition final tie.
  • In addition to the cup or trophy the league may award 14 mementos for 7v7 & 18 mementos for 9v9. Additional mementos may be available for purchase by the teams through the League.
  • The Management Committee shall endeavour to facilitate the appointment of match officials where possible for final ties.
